Influence of Gender on the Adversity Quotient (AQ) of Inmates in Delta State, Nigeria

This study is to determine the influence of gender on Adversity Quotient inmates in Delta State. One research question and corresponding hypothesis guided study. The design was a descriptive design. A sample 525 drawn from population 7,348 all custodian centres researchers adopted purposive non-proportionate stratified simple random sampling techniques for size determination. instrument titled Scale Prisoners (AQSP). AQSP made up 96 items delineating feeling adversity. Almost half were positively keyed while othesr negatively keyed. face content validities established. reliability ascertained using internal consistency via Cronbach Alpha technique. coefficient 0.95 obtained. Data obtained analyzed statistics mean standard deviation, independent t–test results showed that there significant difference between male female their Quotient. implies nothing worry about when comparing adversity level inmates. therefore recommended among others prison warders should encourage by giving assignments biographies people within outside immediate environment who have distinguished themselves through dint discipline, hard-work sheer bravery.
